ADRA has presence in Khartoum State in the outskirt suburbs that provide homes for IDPs in three localities - Kerery, Haj Yousuf, Umbadda and recently Jebel Awlia. Established in 1994, the main objectives of these projects is the empowerment of the most vulnerable women and children through entrepreneurial skills, literacy and other services that enable them to enjoy a life of dignity, justice and respect.  These projects have continued in phases to-date, providing various services – literacy for women and out-of-school children, handicraft, home economics, leather work, beauty salon and micro finance that have impacted the lives of thousands of people in these areas.

ADRA Sudan is currently implementing two education projects in Khartoum State, one funded by NORAD (coordinated by ADRA Norway) and the other funded by Bread for the World Germany.
