WASH and Shelter Initiatives (WASI)

WASH and Shelter Initiatives (WASI)

Description

The goal of the project is to allow vulnerable Syrian families to have access to secure and appropriate shelter and WASH options in Rural Damascus and Aleppo. The targeted number of beneficiaries for all interventions is 13,000. In Rural Damascus, this number consists of 3,000 IDPs (in 600 households, using an average of 5 individuals per household) for shelter interventions, including water and sanitation facilities. In addition, a total of 10,000 affected population and returnees are planned to benefit from only water facilities in Aleppo, of which 5,000 are estimated to be IDPs. The WASI project will also provide 100 community garbage bins to communities in Rural Damascus.
