ADRA started working in West Darfur in 2004 focusing its activities in the field of WASH, FSL, and since 2010, Peace building. Various ADRA country offices and donors have been partners in these humanitarian interventions. From 1986 to date, the Water and Sanitation Department of ADRA/Sudan has, with its own drilling machines, drilled over 820 water wells and installed them with hand pumps in the rural communities of West Darfur, Blue Nile and Northern States.
ADRA Sudan is currently implementing a WASH project with Danida funding and is planning to engage in a food for work program, funded by WFP. ADRA Sudan recently completed a project with UNDP funding and is planning to reapply for this funding in 2015.
